being r/e doesnt give u alot of edge in the begining... until u get conjur and preparation then stack alot of other things together.

Mesmer? Kill monsters? Good one. My Mesmer/monk can drop one mob in 15 seconds. Two mobs takes over a minute. More than that and I'm dead. But I'm just getting to the meat of my skills, and I know that I'll pwn in PvP...But if you're looking for monster owning early on, you might want to try a Warrior, and maybe an Elementalist for their uber-AoE.

Blitzkrieg can you tell us a few details about your N/R ?
(And why one shouldn't go for R/N instead?)
(No this is not a Soul Reaping question, I am thinking about an overall R vs N comparison; armor, energy regen, etc.)

EDIT: Fixed the typo.

I go Ranger / necro... its for the greatly better armor tho ^.^ i guess all people are entitled to their own way of playing tho... energy regen is fine for me as well, guess it also depends on the skills / items / if you're using a bow / what kind of character you're making... "i say greatly better armor" because it fits my build... im using greater conflageration (sp) ... whenever i find it... so im using my armor with all this fire resistance, that way i'm incedibly resistant to physical dmg... great for pve with my skill/build... and pvp it does Awesome in 4v4 and makes a good backup with a change of skills for our guild vs guild.
